Instructions on Installing and Using this Page One Interactive Training Software Minimum Recommended System Requirements: 486 DX 100 or Pentium Windows 3.1, 3.11, 95 or NT 6 MB of free hard disk space 4X CD-ROM drive or higher Monitor capable of 256 colors at 640 X 480 resolution. 1. Installing the Software To install this software in Windows 95 : a) Insert the CD-ROM in your CD-ROM drive b) Choose the Start Menu and click on the Run command c) From the Run dialog box type d:\urwin95\setup ( where d: is the letter of your CD-ROM drive) - note: if you are using a version of this product which has been included on another another CD-ROM you may need to verify the folder name containing the setup file. d) When prompted on the screen choose Full Install e) Follow the onscreen instructions. To install this software in Windows 3.1 : a) Insert the CD-ROM in your CD-ROM drive b) Choose the Program Manager choose the File menu, Run Command c) From the Run dialog box type d:\urwin95\setup ( where d: is the letter of your CD-ROM drive) - note: if you are using a version of this product which has been included on another another CD-ROM you may need to verify the folder name containing the setup file. d) When prompted on the screen choose Full Install e) Follow the onscreen instructions. This software will install approx. 6 MB of files on your hard disk. These files will be located by default in a sub-directory of your windows directory called : \asym\runtime. The remainder of the tutorial software runs directly from the CD-ROM. NOTE: The CD-ROM must be in your CD-ROM drive every time you wish to run this software. ALSO NOTE: We recommend setting your computer display to 640 X 480 resolution 256 colors to run this tutorial software. This can be done using the Display option in the Control Panel. 2. Running this Software After the installation, a group will appear in your programs menu called Page One Interactive. Inside this group you will see the link Up and Running with Windows 95 Introduction. Double-click this link to launch the tutorial software. 3. Working in this software Full Screen Mode: In order to simulate the experience of working in the actual program being taught, this software runs full screen in 640 x 480 resolution mode. User Interface Box: The User Interface box appears on every screen and allows you to navigate throughout the tutorial. It also allows you to take notes, replay an audio track. The text area of the user interface box provides instructions as to what you should do next. Here are the functions of the User Interface box buttons Next : Takes you to the next screen in the tutorial Back: Takes you to the previous screen in the tutorial Menu: Takes you to the tutorial Main menu Topic: Provides a pop-up menu of section topics which you can jump to Notes: Displays the Notes window where you can enter, save, open and print Notes while working in this tutorial. Navigation Keys: You can also navigate forward and backward in the tutorial using the following keys on your keyboard: RIGHT ARROW : Advances to the next screen LEFT ARROW: Take you back to the previous screen F1 : Displays the How to Use this Tutorial section F2: Takes you back to the last screen you were viewing. Main Menu and Section Menu Indicators: The Green indicators light up whenever you have jumped or entered a Section or section topic. Note these indicators are reset when you exit the tutorial. Red Arrow Graphic and User Instructions: The Red arrow graphic will always point to the area on the screen where you must enter text or perform a mouse function such as clicking or dragging. The text area of the User Interface Box provides instructions as to what you should do next. The Notes Screen: The Notes screen allows you to take notes while working in the tutorial. You can view the Notes screen at anytime by clicking on the Notes button in the User Interface Box. You can also Save, and Print Notes at anytime . IMPORTANT: The Save button will open the Save As dialog box and automatically insert a file name and TXT extension. Notes files are saved as plain ASCII text files. You can use this default file name or enter your own. The Notes file can be opened in any program capable of opening .TXT files. Exiting the Tutorial: If you click the Exit button on the User Interface Box you will be prompted to confirm you wish to exit the tutorial.
